The entire island is absolutely quiet and peaceful. No motorized traffic is allowed, the airport closes and it looks like nobody lives on the island.

We offer a Nyepi package where you arrive the day before the New Year and are introduced by our staff to these traditions in our neighborhood allowing you to observe and, if you so wish, to participate in the ceremonies. The evening before Nyepi there are ceremonies and much attention is paid to the Ogoh Ogoh huge puppets made from papier maché. They resemble many of our Hindus gods, but also local and historical figures. Nyepi day itself is a great opportunity for you to experience genuine silence in a nature retreat enjoying a truly luxury facility and MMP hospitality. The day after Nyepi there are also a number of interesting activities which you can enjoy since a late check out is part of the package.
